Principle
How laser hair removal works
Laser hair removal destroys the follicle and root beneath the skin so the hair falls out.
The laser targets only dark melanin, so hair can be removed without concern for the surrounding skin, and because it acts on the root where hair grows, repeated sessions can hold semi-permanently.

The laser is applied to hair in its growth phase, destroying the tissue that produces it.

Hair Cycle
Laser hair removal works when sessions follow the hair growth cycle
Hair moves through anagen (growth), catagen (regression) and telogen (rest).
Hair in catagen or telogen is not fully connected to the follicle, so the laser has less effect.
To act fully on the follicle, the laser has to be applied during the growth phase.
We therefore recommend repeating sessions at roughly four to six week intervals.
